Diversity
Diversity, you colorful flame,
burning at the heart of innovation
you can't be named, you can't be tamed
you never occupy, you ever defy a specific location.
All too often misunderstood
forsaken, mistaken or morally shaken
you rise up just to take another blast
as you carry the cross of the outcast
Resurrecting like a phoenix from the ash
no matter how many times you clash
with the ones who live in a secret fear
of a god that never shed a tear.
Rich or poor, black or white
straight or gay, religious or not,
like it or not
lessons are learned in the Melting Pot
Diversity, mirror of a thousand frames
the blind lead the blind into mindless games
projecting reflecting on a million names
persecuting who is not the same
but under the surface what we see
is the ancient tale of a family
recorded up to this very day
in the secret language of DNA
