Invocation
before we could walk we had to learn how to crawl
surviving as a species by playing hard ball
dominating, decimating everything in sight
until there's nothing left to kill and nothing left to fight
now it seems like we've reached the end of the line
with so many problems and too little time
for the mindsets and attitudes that brought us this way
are the very same mindsets misleading the way
before we can receive the gifts life gave us
we need to detect what it is that enslaves us
some of us are ruled by the things we own
stuck high and dry on a mighty throne
many of us live in deep misery, poverty
slipping on the downslide, worldwide
But it is we alone who will pull it all together
bridging the gap and changing the weather.
Chorus
From da north to da south to da west to da east
from the bottom to the middle to the top,
seven connections to seven directions
seven connections and we don't stop
In our hearts and minds we bow to the now
we honor you, the live the true
great mystery come slow us down,
bring us back around and connect us to the inner sound
great circle of life you transcend all partitions
accepting all pre existing conditions
who are we to judge your forms
it's you who shines beyond all norms
we thank the ground on which we stand
salute all creatures sea and land
all minerals and rocks and trees
creepy crawlies, birds and bees
In the spirit of humility we recognize
the contributions, the effort and the sacrifice,
made by those who prepared who cared who shared
who maintained allowing us to be entertained
the ones who clean, who remain useen,
simple lives behind the scene
right from the start to art from the heart
respect to all who've played their part
Chorus
From da north to da south to da west to da east
from the bottom to the middle to the top,
seven connections to seven directions
seven connections and we don't stop
